My areas of expertise include the philosophy of race, sex, and gender, as well as practical ethics—encompassing identity ethics, animal ethics, and bioethics. My research explores topics like feminism, the ethics of cultural appropriation, the metaphysical and moral implications of transracialism (attempts to change one’s race), the ethics of using knowledge from animal experimentation, and the ethics of risky academic inquiry. I completed my Ph.D. in Philosophy at Vanderbilt University and my B.A. Hons in Philosophy from McGill University. I was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario.
